A For Inclusion

UCF was the only school to earn an ‘A’ for racial and gender hiring practices for women’s teams’ head coaches in a new report released last week.

The two schools with the highest percentage of female head coaches of women’s teams were UCF and Cincinnati, which were the only schools that got the equivalent of an A with 80 percent of their head coaches being women.

UCF also was awarded an A for its racial hiring because 30 percent of its head coaches are coaches of color.

$10 Million in Cash Gift Revenues

It was a record-setting year in fund-raising for UCF Athletics. The Knights have received more than $10 million in cash gift revenues from fund-raising in the 2016-17 fiscal year and strive to reach $10.5 million by the end of June.

“Our goal is to become a Top 25 intercollegiate athletics program and fund-raising is a critical part of that,” UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White said. “Our development team has done a remarkable job, while our fans and supporters have stepped up in a big-time way and supported the Golden Knights Club and our Rise & Conquer Initiative. Thank you to all the amazing people who have bought in and are helping us achieve our vision.”

Men’s Basketball Adds Alabama

Another SEC opponent is on the schedule. The UCF men’s basketball team will play a home-and-home series with Alabama, starting Dec. 3, 2017 in Tuscaloosa. A return visit to CFE Arena is scheduled for a yet-to-be-determined date in 2018.

The 2017-18 slate of games is set to be one of the most challenging in recent memory for the Knights, who have already scheduled Missouri and No. 1 ranked recruit Michael Porter Jr. to come to Orlando in November.
