UCF Tops GSR Rating

For a fourth consecutive year, UCF student-athletes are graduating at a higher rate than any other NCAA Division I FBS public institution in the nation.

Based on data released by the NCAA Wednesday, UCF has an overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 94 percent. That mark is one point higher than last year and leads all public colleges and universities in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision. It also puts the Knights in seventh place in all of NCAA Division I FBS. The Knights trail only private institutions Notre Dame, Stanford, Northwestern, Duke, Vanderbilt and Boston College.

“I’m consistently impressed with the dedication our student-athletes have to success in the classroom and in competition,” UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Daniel J. White said. “The most important goal a UCF student-athlete should have is graduation. Our student-athletes, coaches, academic staff and administration share that common goal. We’re very proud our ranking in Graduation Success Rate, especially when you look at the schools we’re surrounded by.”

Football Excellence Fund

UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White has announced an aggressive vision for the UCF Football Excellence Fund, with new giving levels. UCF Athletics’ goal is to secure commitments of over $1.5 million annually for the next five years.

In an effort to help the Knights sustain their current momentum and success, the UCF Football Excellence Fund is now pursuing gift commitments ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 annually to further enhance the program’s operating resources.

Commitments to the UCF Football Excellence Fund will provide extraordinary resources in pursuit of competitive excellence. Those giving annually at the $25,000-$100,000 levels to the Football Excellence Fund will be part of the Athletic Director’s Circle, the GKC’s new annual donor stewardship program that will celebrate and recognize leadership-level donors to UCF Athletics.

Knights Rank In Top 25

With the first 3-0 start to the season since 2013, it’s only fitting that the UCF football team made its return to the Top 25 rankings Sunday, its first appearance in the Top 25 since the end of the 2013 campaign.

The Knights were ranked 25th in both the Associated Press Poll and the Coaches Poll in week six of the NCAA college football season. The Knights defeated visiting Memphis by a score of 40-13 in both teams’ American Athletic Conference opener Saturday night at Spectrum Stadium, handing the Tigers their first loss of the season. UCF opened the season winning 61-17 over FIU, before defeating Maryland 38-10 on the road last weekend.
